Tangala Farm is situated at the base of the mountains near Fethiye, Turkey. In 2008, the owners moved from Istanbul to Yakakoy to start a small farm. Currently, the farm is expanding to a second site nearby. The farm produces cheese, milk and soap from their goats and includes an organic garden, new cheese facility and cob house. The site also has two bungalows and a new dorm under construction for volunteers.

PROJECT 1: Construction of Mound Beds

On an existing 400 morganic garden Cem allowed us to undergo the construction of a mound cultivation garden bed. The mound will be 10m long supported by local pine logs. This type of permaculture application was detailed by Richard Wallner from France. This is the first permacultural approach of tangala farm.

 Technical details:
-Width of the Mound: 1,50m
-Length : Around 10m
-Width of the path : 50cm
-Pine logs to maintain the mound (Diameter between 5 and 15cm)
-Olive tree's branches to maintain the Path
-Mound covered with straw (between 3 and 5cm)

PROJECT 2: CONSTRUCTION OF COB HOUSE

On a separate 1.4 hectare site, a new construction of a cob house and cheese production facility is under way. After construction, the goats will be moved to the new site permanently. The cob house was constructed of a wood frame with three cob walls and one stone wall. A detached stone cheese and milk facility is also under construction.
